  • This zoo is surprisingly good for a smaller town. Close up with the tigers is cool but no elephants.
  • Great break in busy workday. Walking through is like being in a park with animals as guests. Even though it's always hard to see any animal caged, it's a great resource for young and old to see live t...  more »
  • Boise Zoo is a clean and beautiful sanctuary for the amazing animals that call it home. A perfect place to spend the day with the family.

  • We love the Boise zoo! It's not too busy and there is plenty to see. There are 2 different tigers and if you are lucky enough to go when the female is out she is very active and interesting. Our favorite things to do are to feed the goats (our kids are young and love it) and feed the giraffes every day at 1:30. It's a very memorable experience!
  • Best little zoo. Feed bears and giraffes. See penguins, monkeys, lions, jellyfish, turtles, zebras and such. No local fluff animals like chickens and deer. Just the good ones. Go to the zoo. You'll love it.
  • This zoo is subpar at best. It's not very well kept and the attractions are not that great. I realize it's a zoo but even for a zoo its not that clean. The building are dingy and the general maintenance seems to not be a priority. Do yourself a favor and drive 4 hours to Salt Lake cities Hogle Zoo if you want to see a real zoo.
  • Great animal interactions; feed a bear, encounter a giraffe, let a long stick bug crawl on you, pet a hedgehog, and walk around inside the Wallaby exhibit. You can do all of that and more at the Boise Zoo! They also have special events like an overnight Zoo stay, yoga with the animals, and race days for kids. The zoo volunteers are friendly and informative. I love their ZooTeen program, which teaches teens about conservation through volunteering and animal interaction. What an awesome thing for today's generation! I wish my local Zoo had that when I was growing up.
  • There are many rare animals that you can see only in few places. Major attractions are penguins, giraffe in the open area, Lions enclosure with a glass view, butterfly house, etc
