  • The boat ride to Cayo Costa took two hours to the site & two hours back. This took away from the our water time. The boat crew was very nice with all the children in our group, age range of 2 -18, the...  read more »
  • Okay so about 6 months ago four of my closest friends and I thought it would be a good idea to take a road trip to somewhere warm and camp for five nights. We saw this place online and saw all the goo...  read more »
  • Cayo Costa is a fabulous island and well preserved. We stayed here for a night in one of the state park cabins - reasonably priced. We have stayed in many state and national park cabins over the years...  read more »
  • This is our favorite beach in the Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area. We have not camped or hiked there; we just sunbathe and swim. There are bathrooms but they're not fancy. We just love that it's not crowded like all the other beaches in the area. My mom lives on Pine Island and she introduced us to it. We have taken the Tropic Star and also hired a boat to take us out. The Tropic Star boat ride is great, usually. They know where to find dolphins and have taken us into the manatee coves as well. The whole trip is like paradise on earth, at least when the weather is good. :-)
  • Great island preserve! Great trails and amazing beaches. Each side presents a different kind of beach. You can get more flat beach or very wooded beaches. Even has sand bars you can go on. Very primitive camping you can only reach by boat or fairy. At least it has a shower :)
  • Natural beauty....must see if you can get here.
  • Beautiful waters! Watch out for the pigs!
  • I've lived her my whole life and never knew about Cayo Costa, but I'm glad we found it. My husband and I stayed for 8 days in June of 2014, we had been there before but loved it so much wanted to go back. What a great time. We are spending the 4th of July weekend with my family there, can't wait to share with them the wonderful island. Everyone there is was great. My recommendation is to bring battery operated fans they really help circulate the air in the cabins. I wish that all the cabins had screened in front porches. We scramble all the time to get one with the screened in front porch.
