  • We spent a few hours on the ocean side beach. Great shelling for sure! The beach is a bit shelly but once you get in the water its great sand. Shallow out about 100 yards.
  • This is a rustic island run by the Florida Park Service. Very nice, clean and rustic. There are small cabins available, showers and restrooms. The beach was very nice and very few people were there. A...  more »
  • We took a boat ride from Captiva to Cayo Costa. We had two hours to spend on the island and it was not enough time. We LOVED it there. The water was clear and blue. It was so quiet and peaceful. The s...  more »

  • Cayo Costa is #Paradise highly recommended 👍
  • Beautiful but they should warn the campers that the cabins are not Mosquito or sand fly proof. 3 days camping and over 1000 bites. Bring noseeum gear
  • Great island preserve! Great trails and amazing beaches. Each side presents a different kind of beach. You can get more flat beach or very wooded beaches. Even has sand bars you can go on. Very primitive camping you can only reach by boat or fairy. At least it has a shower :)
  • This is our favorite beach in the Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area. We have not camped or hiked there; we just sunbathe and swim. There are bathrooms but they're not fancy. We just love that it's not crowded like all the other beaches in the area. My mom lives on Pine Island and she introduced us to it. We have taken the Tropic Star and also hired a boat to take us out. The Tropic Star boat ride is great, usually. They know where to find dolphins and have taken us into the manatee coves as well. The whole trip is like paradise on earth, at least when the weather is good. :-)
  • This place sucks. At night it is hot and buggy. Do not come here. It is a living hell.
