Nature / Park
Ouabache is difficult to spell, but easy to pronounce. Simply say 'Wabash'...just like the river that forms the southwest boundary for the park. This is the French spelling of an Indian word, so don't be surprised to hear some folks call it o-ba-chee.

  • We camped a couple of nights during the week a Ouabache State Park for a little R & R. Weather was nice and the campground was quiet and peaceful. Loop A offers campsites that are decent sized for the...  more »
  • We went to the park to hike on the trails. They have several smaller trails as well as one long 6 mile trail that encompasses many of the smaller trails. It was a great place to hike and we plan to re...  more »
  • The campground is extremely well maintained. The campground hosts are the best. We have been here in the summer when it is hot, crowded, and the campers insist on having campfires. The smoke just hang...  more »

  • Great park and campground. We have done a week long camping trip here the last 3 years. Our girls love visiting the bison! On a downside - last year '2016' the pool was closed during the week for budget reasons and the fire tower was still closed for maintenance. Hopefully in 2017 these will be open. Other than that we enjoy our visits to the park.
  • Nice and peaceful but they need to clean their pool and they charge a little bit too much or too many things
  • Nice state park with a camping area, a small lake for fishing and a fenced in area with buffalo. Also has a fire tower but has not been accessible the few times I've been there.
  • Very nice campsites. A little muddy when you get a downpour of rain obviously, but plenty of shade trees to help beat the sun.
  • There rules are stupid. My mom came for an hour at 930 pm when it was quite, the camp ranger came and told me mom that she had to move. He also told me that I had to move my car. To 5 campsites down. I didn't like leaving my new car that far away from where we was camping. If a little kid came up and scratched it with a stick who's going to pay for it. Also there isn't anything showing on the rules where we can only have one car on the site. Which we also have my bf truck on the site because he had to pull the camper! We would love to be able to camper her more, but I think we are done being pestered by the camp ranger!! So sad!!
