  • Wonderful and interesting displays. Rustic furniture sale was going on while we were there. We are looking forward to the new displays this year. Loved it!!  more »

  • Very informative museum about the Adirondack area. Exhibits to keep kids interested. Parking is easy. There's a well dressed food cafe in the back overlooking the lake. It's a beautiful place to visit.
  • Suck we had school kids there . They were running rapid all around the place. No supervision and when you were trying to read something they got in the way. We cut short our visit thanks to them.
  • This museum gives you a lot of history about the area and the people there. Worth the time.
  • Great museum. Lots of boats and Adirondack history. Took us (2 young adults) about 3.5 hours to go through everything, and do a hike. Friendly staff members throughout the museum will tell you more about exhibits if you are interested. Mix of indoor and outdoor activities -- you do need to walk outside to get between buildings and exhibits. Could still visit during bad weather as most of the stuff to see is inside, but would want to dress appropriately for getting between buildings and wandering outside some. Cafe has decent food selection, a little pricey, as expected. There is a small lake about 1 mile away you can hike to, it is an easy hike. Plenty of free parking, with a parking garage as well as an open lot. Pretty large gift shop with many books as well as shirts and trinkets and other standard souvenirs.
  • So informative about the rich history of this incredible area. I cannot wait to return!
