  • Magnificent and surprising views of New Mexico Badlands. Angel Peak pictures require a zoom lens - so I think.
  • On the way from Farmington to Chaco Canyon, we followed a sign with inscription "Angel peak overlook" and were surprised with beautiful Badlands. There are several parking lots, from where each other views of the Badlands and the eponymous Angel peak is available. This one is located high above the Valley on the edge of the Badlands. We were almost the only visitors, and thus were able to enjoy the wonderful panorama in silence. The latter not quite right, because in the countless birds flew around, which caused an incredible noise. Unfortunately, the birds were gone too far in order to determine their type. I found it definitely a worthwhile detour.
