A part of the famous Blue Ridge range of the Appalachian Mountains, claims the title of the tallest natural feature in Georgia. Rising to a height of 643 m (2,108 ft) and carpeted by dense forest, the mountain offers views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Stop by the visitor center, accessible either by shuttle from the parking area or via a steep, 1 km (0.6 mi) long trail, to view exhibits on local history, flora, and fauna. On a clear day, you may be able to see the skyscrapers of Atlanta in the distance. Brasstown Bald reviews
Our weekend getaway included several hikes. It was cold when we went and I wished I had taken leggings to go under my pants and a toboggan for my head, especially when we got to the top of the... more »
Beautiful views - there was a falconry exhibit at the top of the mountain that was awesome. Great souvenir shop more »
This site is well worth a visit even when the weather is not agreeable. We have visited in the past so we know that the views are worthwhile. However, on this visit, there was rain and wind on the..... more »
Excellent experience for the family.... if lucky children will be amazed while clouds rush by them at top of mountain...” my daughter got to eat clouds!”😂... great visitor’s center and museum at top.
Brasstown Bald is one of the most spectacular places to visit! We have been here a half dozen times and look forward to visiting nearly yearly with our friends and family. It is worth the visit to be at the highest elevation in Georgia! Bring a camera and take some spectacular pictures! The best time to visit is right when the leaves turn in fall. Don’t miss out on one of the greatest views in our day! Lord bless!!
Absolutely loved it! Truly amazing and beautiful! Very well kept up and the trails were better than I expected and are kept up by volunteers. Great place for couples or families. Kid and pet friendly. Exceptional views! I highly recommend it and will be returning myself as well.
Great views! Took many pictures! One of the best times to get here is 3 - 6 for the golden hour. Enjoy!
Great views on a clear day. The $5 fee charged at the gate is actually optional to pay. I think it is bad form to charge people to visit the national forest which they already own. It is public lands. The staff is so limited they cannot enforce people not paying the fee and parking. The hike up is free.
