  • First of all, the name of the road above (State Park Maintenance Road) does NOT do this beautiful, relaxing and serene place justice. If anyone is listening, let's rename the road "Lakeview Road." Thi...  more »

  • Great place for a vacation. Restaurant at the resort has good food and reasonable prices. The staff at the marina for the snorkeling excursion were very friendly, funny and helpful for first time snorkelers. The guided horseback tour was also really nice and the staff there were friendly too. Overall really nice get away for a few days.
  • As far as campsites... this is the worst place we have ever camped at. I give it negative 5 stars. The camp site we had 42 was infested with spider, bugs & Red bugs. The area wasn't clean when we arrived. The only part of the camp site we were pleased with was the bath house. It was very clean! The resort was beautiful & marina was nice. I just strongly recommend to make sure they have done something about this before camping. I know camping you will have bugs (we camp often) but we have never seen anything this infested. After letting the staff know they apologized but that was it. The trails are grown up also. Defiantly don't recommend bike on them.
  • The place is to relax!! Nice to know we have this kind of place around DFW area. The lake is magical. We rented a speed boat and went around the islands. We even had packed lunch and gone for picnic on one of the islands. The restaurant at the resort is super yummy. The staff is friendly. The rooms could use some updating. You can golf on the resort. There are some good trails.
  • This is a gorgeous place! Very well kept. Peaceful. The restaurant is not too pricey. Good food. Good drinks. The hot tub is spacious & wonderful. Friendly, helpful staff. The king size lake view room is spacious, with a very comfortable bed & beautiful view. (We did get to see a wild bald eagle 🦅 The sunset cruise is $10 & is by far the highlight of our stay. The lake is simply beautiful & Ranger / Captain Dru is very informative. Wild life sightings are probable & exciting!
  • Beautiful grounds borders the lake beside manicured lawn. 18 hole golf greens in great shape. Marina, camping, and swim beaches enjoyable along with plenty of activities with a park interpreter. Restaurant offers plenty of menu options. Atmosphere is wonderful!
