  • I don't know the museum's history, but the collection seemed a little thin for a city this size. There was a very nice thought provoking exhibition entitled, THIRD SPACE /SHIFTING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT CONTEMPORARY ART, upstairs. The children's play area was very interactive and engaging for kids and parents, alike. The sculpture garden is another highpoint.
  • I attended the African Heritage Festival on this pst Saturday and it was amazing! The security guard was very helpful in giving me a map of where I needed to be and the things that were taking place at the festival. I love going to the Birmingham Museum of Art because of the awesome pieces that they showcase. I would definitely recommend this museum to those that are in the Birmingham area visiting for the weekend.
  • Amazing!! This museum celebrates art and culture like few I've visited. The staff is wonderfully kind, and they remembered us from our short visit the day before. Most captivating for me was the fact that they were discussing the narrative of Third Space, and its presence in current cultures. Oh, and it's free (donations accepted).
  • One of my favorite places in birmingham they always have fun and educational events. This a great place for people of all ages. I've been several times and its never a dull moment !!
  • A celebration of art. Beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms, beautiful space. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Free admission. Art on the Rocks, the museum's summer series, is oodles of fun and brings together many from the Birmingham community.
