ZooMontana is a 70acre wildlife park located in Billings, Montana, U.S. and is Montana's only zoo and botanical park. It currently maintains nearly 100 animals, representing 58 species. These animals all live in habitats designed to imitate their natural habitats. The zoo was incorporated and established as a non-profit 501 C (3) organization in 1982. It focuses on year-round wildlife native to Montana, the Rocky Mountains, and other cold temperature regions at or above the 45th Parallel. Indoor habitats include animals from around the world. Canyon Creek runs through the center of the zoo's grounds, creating a natural and tranquil park-like setting.Animal exhibitsZooMontana is divided into two main "regions" in addition to other exhibits. Had a great time wandering around and looking at the wildlife in a fairly natural setting. Animals all were healthy, the setting was open and clean.  more »

As a father of two small girls, I find the zoo to be perfect size. Not so big that the kids are completely worn out afterwards (not to mention myself), but big enough that there is something "else" to...  more »

I really appreciate that the animals seemed to be well taken care of. Not over-crowded like other zoos we've been to!! There's a lot of shade when walking around so it's not too hot. I think the gift shop was a little bare. They could make more money by getting more merchandise I only saw 2 kids T-shirts and only in one size. And it was a little odd that we saw a lot of Christmas light displays like nutcrackers and elves just outside the paths still up in June. But still a nice family activity for a couple hours. They have very nice play equipment and we had a yummy snow cone.

I wish it was better. For anyone coming to Montana one of there main bucket list items is the native animals. I just thought there should be more than three goats to pet and a few others you can feed. I wish that there was more staff or something to keep the enclosures cleaner and talk about the animals that are there. My family and I went to the Denver zoo and it was amazing so there it's harr not to compare.

I used to come here a lot as a kid. The renaissance fair is really fun. They have an eagle that was injured and they now take care of. They have a playground. Good place to take kids.

ZooMontana is working so hard to bring new and exciting exhibits! It seems like every time I visit, they have added something new! I can't wait to see what's next!!

ZooMontana was a nice facility, but unfortunately a lot of the exhibits were empty or overgrown with vegetation. Still a nice area to walk around and worth checking out if you have kids!
