  • We've done all the toddler-friendly things in the DC area, and this, in my opinion, this is a real gem. There are no bouncy attractions or touch screens. Just cozy, themed rooms and nooks in which kids can learn by playing and exploring. Toys and books abound. There's a supermarket, firehouse, mini-petting zoo, and many others. This is a small business, and it's obvious the owner has put great thought and care into the "curating" of each room. See "grandma and grandpa's place" for perhaps the best example. Our toddler loved it. For those that are interested, there are pay-to-play activities, such as painting a wooden toy souvenirs. There are also toys and books for sale. But we felt quite welcome just exploring the various rooms.
  • I attended this place for my nephew's birthday party at the beginning of this month. The place overall was nice for the kids however the owner was extremely rude and had very poor customer service!! From my very first encounter with her I could tell how the rest of the day was going to go. Her attitude all day was short and snappy like she didn't really want us there! Then at story time, she's getting frustrated because two and three year olds are not sitting down listening to her story. Then she makes a comment "whose kid is this" so the parents could make an attempt to make them sit still I guess. Why would you even think toddlers could sit still why you're reading a story to them!! Totally unprofessional!! My first thought was to let her know how I felt but I didn't want to ruin my nephew's party and the way I was feeling, it would've gotten ugly. Instead I'll let anyone know who thinks about having a party here how rude and unprofessional the owner is. Her son was more polite than she was. I'll NEVER visit this place again! P.S. There was a customer named Imani that wrote a review and if you see the owners response that will give you a taste of how unprofessional she is!
  • Suffice to say, I have no disagreement with the other negative reviews. I was expecting more in terms of activities and size. It was a let down for me, but for the kids who where 4 at the time.
  • The Playseum is our favorite place to take our girls (3.5 and 2). It is a place that sparks children's imagination and encourages play. It is divided up into little "city shops," with different themes such as; fire station, grocery store, restaurant, forest area with fishing for letters, basketball room, princess dress up, and Grandma's room (old-fashioned radio, clothes, toys). There is a pet shop with bunnies, birds, frogs that you can feed. An art shoppe, where you can paint unfinished wood pieces (jewelry box, car, etc). My girls' favorite area is the bakery! After story time, they love heading in to to the bakery for a fresh fruit or veggie snack. I love that I can take my girls to do a lot of the hands on things that are hard to do at home with multiple little ones, such as baking, art projects, etc. on our next trip we are going to spend some time in the "beehive" and get our nails painted or make some lip gloss! I love going to family owned businesses. The owner, Gina, pours her heart into making a place for parents to come and spend time with their children. She truly cares about her customers and is always looking for opportunities to help families. We love the Playseum and for the friendships we've made since going there!
  • A lot of activities to do. My 3 year old LOVED this place
