  • Small urban park in the Berkeley hills. Accessible by public transportation. Easy to drive to. Not much street parking. Small park but enjoyable and recommended none the less.  more »
  • We are a little older than the average age crowd here which is probably 25. It's a little lower in the hills and thus doesn't have the best views but it's easily accessible and it's fun to climb up on...  more »
  • Indian Rock Park is nice for a quick visit to catch views of the bay and Golden Gate bridge. If it is clear, it provides a nice vista. Wasn't overly crowded on the week day we were there. Be careful o...  more »

  • Perfect sunset on a clear day. It's a small rocky hill which is easy to climb. It's on the higher lying area so the view from here is amazing. You can see through bay to San Francisco. It can get pretty windy, come prepared for that.
  • The rain let up for a few days, so it was safe and dry to visit Indian Rock Park and climb. Exceptional views of the Bay Area. We found parking fairly easily. I have to come back with a better camera for better pictures.
  • Some of the best views to be had on this rhyolite outstripping! I've been coming here since I was a pre-teen, many memories of nighttime excursions laying on the warm rock staring up at stars were had here. Also perfect for grabbing a sandwich and enjoying your meal with a beautiful serene view. A treasured piece of the East Bay, off the beaten map, great for geologists and travelers wishing for a taste of the local life.
  • The view from the top is great! It’s not a hike per se since you take stairs to climb up. Good place to practice your bouldering skills
  • Be aware there are no gaurd rails on rock! Not for anyone old or young who aren't confident and sure footed. Also, there are stairs carved into the east side and the west side. West side is much easier. We didn't realize this when we first arrived. My 4 year old was able to make it up and down but it was a bit sketchy on the east stairs. Wonderful view of SF Bay.
