The Museum of Native American History is a non-profit, handicapped-accessible museum of Native American history, art, and culture located in Bentonville, Arkansas. The museum was founded in 2006 by David Bogle, a local businessman and registered member of the Cherokee Nation.
The museum features artifacts from across the Americas covering over 14,000 years of history. The museum chooses to focus on the broader history of Native Americans as a whole, rather than any specific tribe and is laid out in roughly chronological order beginning around 12,000 BC and ending around 1900 AD.

The museum offers free admission and welcomed 35,000 guests in 2016, with indications that attendance will continue to climb in the coming years. The museum is routinely listed as the second most popular attraction in Bentonville, following Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

  • This museum was closed due to COVID. I have visited it in the past and was disappointed it was closed. I do recommend it however and will check it out next time.  more »
  • Loved every minute of it. Great display of Native American culture. Loved the actual teepee outside.  more »
  • Have a NA friend in for a visit, really wanted to take them here but they are closed. Yet a few blocks from here Bentonville let rich white kids flood the square to rage against statues?  more »

  • Very well laid out for the amount of history and artifacts they display. The kids loved finding arrowheads of their own, they will never forget it. The staff are wonderful. Gift shop is amazing. Aside from the history, they do great things here.
  • What a fantastic museum! I could have easily spent four hours here. The collection of native American pottery and artifacts was amazing. We learned so much and loved the gift shop selection. Kids got to dig around outside for a free arrowhead. Anyone who is a fan of the old American west will love this museum.
  • Wow...I must admit that I did not know what to expect at first. You go inside, there's a mammoth making real noise, and it kinda freaks you out. It's actually amazing. It eases you in with things that are familiar, a bison skull and some arrowheads. Then, before you know it, you are spearheaded, yourself, right into the thick of ACTUAL Native American Culture and Artifacts. Some things that would seem to be actually PRICELESS. And, in its special way, is. And some of those artifacts have to actually be priceless as they are irreplaceable and wonderful creations left behind by an entire Culture. It's a place you truly must experience in order to appreciate. It is a Gem and it is priceless. A must visit. Come when you have some time. Pay your respects. Feel some things. You won't regret it. And....it's free. 100% free. How amazing?
  • Not giant but more inside than I expected. Not just locally focused. Some really cool pieces that made me feel connected to past people as other humans rather than just "history"
  • I am so glad we found this museum. It was small and easy to navigate but was very interesting. We loved the self guided tour.
