  • One of the best gifts I ever gave myself was booking at the Double R Guest ranch! The owners, Ron and Trina, are some of the most genuine and caring people ever. They have so much love for the ranch and they want to share its beauty with everyone. All the animals are loved, respected, and cared for from the horses, dogs, and cattle, down to the chickens! You will be matched with just the right horse to enhance your ride. I have stayed at the ranch 3 times this year with each stay just as beautiful and as unique. Ron and Trina, along with the trail guides want you to embrace all what horseback riding can offer. From never riding a horse to more advanced rider, you will be treated as one of the family. Come for a ride or stay multiple days right on the ranch. You will not be disappointed. Call now.
  • Stop in and visit!!! My children and I enjoyed the time we spent relaxing and riding! Meeting genuine, friendly, and positive people is rare.. May the Creator bless your business Ron! See you soon if the Most High is willing:) Shalom
  • I’ve got no adequate words for Ron and Trina. The best humans I know. I’ve been down four times when I need to get away. There’s WiFi so I can work. The kids love private lessons. And I love Casanova …if I could book all year I would. Their hospitality, the peace of the ranch. It’s everything.
  • What a wonderful place. Lots of dogs to greet you and horses to ride. Very clean accommodations. Definitely want to return when we can stay a little while😊
  • My daughter and I are wishing we could rate the Double R Guest Ranch with as many stars as a desert nighttime sky!! Bring your water of choice, and grab a snack before getting to the ranch – this will enhance your experience!! More details to follow … Kiddo and I were visiting family in the area, recently. We were originally looking at a party of 13. Ron (owner) said that he and his staff would be able to accommodate a group that large. Although we were hoping that the whole family would join us, my daughter and I were the only folks who could make the trip to the Double R Guest Ranch. My daughter is 5 years old, and has only ridden a horse once, with me, sharing the same saddle. Ron was so very sweet on the phone, when I made the reservations. He took the time to understand each of our riding experiences, and explained pricing. When we got to Double R Guest Ranch, for the sunset ride, there was a storm in progress. Together, Ron, kiddo, and I, rescheduled for the next morning. We arrived early. I would suggest arriving early, if you are driving, for the ranch is located away from paved roads. The reality of the rural road can take a touch longer to traverse. Ron’s warm hospitality shined through, as he and I chatted during the wait for the trail ride departure time. I also got to watch the horses, while we waited. All very healthy, and happy animals, with well-maintained paddocks. I have been with and around horses for quite some time in life, and I will say that these horses are loved and cherished. This became more clear, as I watched the staff at Double R Guest Ranch interact with the horses, and the horses interact with the humans who care for them. My daughter had expressed earlier in the week, that she was not ready to ride a horse by herself. However, Ron and kiddo developed such a lovely rapport, that when Ron suggested that kiddo ride her own horse, kiddo was happy to engage Ron in learning about horses. Ron took his time, in explaining to kiddo how to sit in the saddle, and led kiddo and her new friend (Butterscotch – see website to meet Butterscotch). Suddenly, kiddo had all the confidence that she was ready to ride!! (Led by Poncho, one of Ron’s staff, also on horseback during the trail ride.) Although there was a group of five persons on the trail ride (including kiddo), there were a total of four staff (including Poncho) on the ride with us. Safety is clearly a concern of the Double R Guest Ranch, and this is greatly appreciated. The staff chatted with each of us, on the trail ride, and took several breaks to remind the humans on the trail, to consume water. Kiddo and I are now planning that the next time we are in Cochise County, we hope to take full advantage of one of the accommodations packages offered at the Double R Guest Ranch. See website - there could be meals and lots of riding in your future, too! Pro tips: 1) The staff at the Double R Guest Ranch work hard. Really hard. They also have your personal safety in mind, as well as the horse’s. Please consider bringing cash to tip those who are watching your back. (You might be able to have Ron to run a credit card for the tip … just ask!) 2) Horses love carrots. And, carrots are not too expensive. Please consider bringing a carrot tip for the horse who worked hard for you, too! The horses love it, and this gives you an extra few moments with the lovely animal who brought you through the desert riding trail. From kiddo: Mr. Ron is nice, and he is very, very sweet. And Butterscotch – she’s sweet, and kind, and loved the carrot I brought her. I wonder: will you go horseback riding with Mr. Ron? I want you to have a great time in Arizona, folks!
