  • There is a narrow and winding badly paved road encircling this butte and taking the intrepid hiker to a wonderful 360 degree vista extending more than a fifty miles in every direction.  more »

  • Great walking trail to the top. You can drive up if you like. Best view of town and the mountains. There is a compass that points and names all the mountains you can see.
  • Easy access, great views. Usually crowded. Over-rated as a running spot. Sure, it's a close hill workout, but if you like running distances, you can do better elsewhere.
  • Great view of everything. Love watching lighting storms .
  • Great views of the cascades from the top and you can see all the way to Washington. The trail is a bit steep if you're not accustomed to hiking. There's also a road that's open from early spring to late fall.
  • Amazing view! If it's your first time, don't bother hiking up unless it's a crystal clear day, otherwise you won't be able to see Mount Hood. It's a great hill for working out; 40 minutes to the top and back if you don't stay long at the top. And there's always plenty of parking. Dogs (even little ones) do really well on this hill. I recommend hiking up the trail and down the road; the trail is shorter than the road by about a quarter of a mile.
