  • Took our three girls here for my daughter's birthday . They had a blast. One hour of learning and riding a horse. The owners seemed to be nice people. However after a couple of days all three of my daughters and my wife got head lice. The helmets we were given were infested. My wife called to inform FlySpur Ranch about the lice. Only to be hung up on by the owner. I wouldn't go to this place again if my life depended on it. Only because of the awful way the owner treated my wife and our family after we informed her of the issue. $115 horse ride for some head lice....don't forget your shower cap if you decide to go. Not only the 115 dollars for the ride but several hundred for treatment. Yes several hundred for a family of five. You are the owner and person responsible. We called to inform not lay blame. Its not personal...but you calling my wife psycho on the phone is. I never would have submitted a Google review had you been concerned and sympathetic to my issue. However you were defensive and obtuse. Even resorting to name calling. Grow up and take responsibility for your business shortcomings. So to recap..if you like to spend lots of money and be treated awful by the owners of this business when you voice a concern. Go for it! However if for your hard earned dollar you expect some common decency....go try somewhere else. These people don't don't believe in customer service.
  • I LOVE Flyspur Ranch! It's such a magical place. I am an equishare member and love being able to ride and play at the ranch. I've been teaching my 4 year old daughter to ride. It is such a blessing to have this ranch and program available to us. I love being able to pick whatever horse I want and pick what I want to do... ride at the ranch, give my daughter lessons, go trail riding with the other equishare members / boarders. I love that this program allows me to be with the horses when my schedule permits. FlySpur Ranch and Therese & Kevin Friedman are truly a gift to my family. We cherish the memories that we are making at this wonderful ranch! They also offer the best trail rides in Central Oregon and I highly recommend them to everyone I know!
  • I just read the review from Rick who wanted to give Flyspur Ranch a "Minus Star" rating. I have owned horses for over 20 years and I know that, being herd animals, they can behave very differently depending on many variables and, therefore, are sometimes unpredictable. His comment about his mare being physically and EMOTIONALLY injured raised a red flag for me since it directly contradicts my experience there. I have boarded my horse at Flyspur for over a year and I can honestly say that they run one of the best stables I have ever been around. He is well cared for, his weight is perfect, he gets plenty of exercise, and other long-term boarders have expressed the same thing for their horses. I have no doubt that Rick did not have a good experience, but I would be careful about placing blame on the owners from such a short stay. It just doesn't measure up against their longer-term record...
  • If there was a "Minus Star", that's how I would rate FlySpur Ranch. If you love your horse, DO NOT BOARD them at FlySpur Ranch. The owners make claims and promises about caring for your horses, and don't follow through. My experience with boarding two of my horses there for 4.5 days, turned out to be tragic, and resulted in my mare having been physically and emotionally injured. In the comment portion of FlySpur's website, there were comments that surprised me, but most came from visitors who came to ride. Finally, there was a true comment from a person who had not been "taken in". This "Google User" of 5 years ago gave a 1 star rating. That "Google User", and mine, are absolutely true and valid. Protect your horse, and find another boarding facility!
  • My sister and I have went out with Therese and Kevin on three or four occasions.. We love these guys. They care for their horses and care about their guests. We have had wonderful experiences with The Fly Spur Ranch. I just joined the equ ishare program and cannot wait to spend more time with this family.. Highly recommend people of all ages and sizes (we are not super model material). They can find the perfect horse no matter your skill and weight. Thank you Therese and Kevin for another perfect ride for my sister Teddy and I.
