This is our go to beach in the Seattle area. We've thrown tons of kids birthday parties here. The beach is small but is very nice. The water is clean. The kids play area is large enough to keep the kids entertained. Two tips: renting the covered areas is very expensive, also the parking gets very full by noon.
The setting is peaceful, the views are beautiful and the people are nice. The biggest drawback for my visit was all the animal feces. I advise, where shoes at all times my friends and I were playing volleyball and one was without shoes ... Let's just say he told his mind it was mud getting in-between his toes, not goose poop.
Cute hole in the wall. Location makes it tough to get too, exit 9 on 405, always traffic. Not as crowded as Coulon, kennydale or Lake boren. No breaks between you and lake washington so there are some rough waves coming in, fun to see your little one get hit with a rough wake.
This place will always hold a special place in my heart but lately they changed thier rules to letting no dogs allowed and that just broke my heart because that doesn't seem fair. They even tried to kick out my service dog! They fought and fought and fought for us to leave my service dog in the car when it was 80 degrees out and I was trying to teach her. Who does that?! Eventually we just left but I couldn't beleive it
My boys and I have now nicknamed this park "Goose Poop Park." Although from a distance the grass looks green and inviting, it is full of goose droppings and feathers. The floating dock is also laden with poop. Very unsanitary and gross. In all fairness, the view of the lake is beautiful and an occasional eagle flies by which is fun.
