We have taken our grandson (2 1/2) here three times and have always enjoyed it, especially him. Seems that most of the kids there were great as were the parents and grandparents. There's a good variet... read more »
If I had a under 3 year old, I probably would have loved the place. I have an 8 year old and our home museum is the hands on children's museum in Olympia. There were a couple cool spots but I was sad ... read more »
Took the kids here as KidsQuest participates in the ASTC Passport Program. I'm glad it was free for us, because it's defintely the smallest children's museum I've been too. But I also read that it was... read more »
This Museum is a bit small, and it can get a little bit crowded. But the kids enjoyed themselves. It has lots of fun activities to do--most of them target learning about the way the world works. It is a little expensive at $9.50 per person, including adults, but on the 3rd Thursday of each month between 5-8pm, they have $1.00 per person admission. It's more like a playground, than an actual museum, but all of the exhibits are educational. Almost everything can be touched and played with, all the items can take the beating that kids provide so you don't have to worry about the breaking anything. They have a water area that allows the kids to get a little wet and they have protective waterproof aprons that they can put on, but you might need an extra dry set of clothes just in case. There is a protected infant/toddler area for children under 3 years old and it has a lot of toys and activities. Kids must be supervised by parents at all times, to you'll have to stay close. KidsQuest is a great place to take the kids to be entertained for a couple hours. Since it is located inside the mall and allows re-entry, if you get hungry during your visit, just get your hand stamped and grab something from one of the restaurants in the mall. There lots of parking as well. I would recommend checking this place out if you need somewhere to take your kids.
Kids certainly have a blast here - have a great water-play area, truck cabin to play in, and loads of other areas for kids of all tastes. The one disappointment is that they charge adults admission (even though there's nothing inside that would appeal to adults) which makes it too expensive - especially if both parents want to go and watch their kids have fun.
I love how the space encourages inquisitive play. My 3 year old has taken this exploratory play style and applied it when he plays in other situations. A regular little scientist!
My younger sister loves this place! She's been going there every Saturday for a while now and enjoys her time there. There is always something new to do there, and she will always learn something everytime she goes to KidsQuest.
I admit, it is a great place for kids, but not entirely safe. My little boy got hit on his head and face by the handles of the wooden steering wheel in the 'Pirate Treehouse/Ship' on multiple occasions. I contacted the administration and asked them to make the steering wheel 'safer', but the response, basically, was that they could not do anything to make it safer. We don't go there anymore.
