  • The boardwalk trail is gorgeous. You frequently see people just walking the loops for exercise. They are stroller friendly, too. The visitor center has great activities for the kids. And of course, the raptor area has many birds of prey that they have rehabilitated and house because they cannot be released back into the wild. Stop by here before leaving!
  • Great place for getting back to nature right here in the city. There aren't too many places left around here that are a short drive from home and you can walk for miles without a car in sight. Easy to medium difficulty trails with a good sized boardwalk for those that would rather stay out of the dirt. The new raptor display is a great chance to see some pretty amazing birds up close. One of my favorite places near Omaha to hang out.
  • I like the new Raptor Recovery center they just opened. The have all sorts of birds in this new area, including owls. The nature trails on the other hand have a ton of overgrowth and wish they would trim some of it so you could see the river again.
  • Great Hiking trails winding up and down hills and gullies. They lost a star because of the price. At $9.50 per adult you can enter just about any national park in the country. They have an annual membership something in the range of $65 which might be worth it if you enjoy a daily walk in the woods.
  • Great place for pictures because of the beautiful scenery. Try to go during the summer, winter is a bit chilly out here...
