Eckert's Belleville Farm, Belleville

(4.3/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Eckert’s Country Store & Farms is the largest family-owned and operated pick-your-own orchard in the United States. Established as a farm and simple roadside stand, the Eckert family now owns and operates farming, entertainment and retail entities in Belleville, Grafton and Millstadt in southwestern Illinois. For a century, Eckert’s has served the bi-state region as a local source for agricultural products including pick-your-own strawberries, blackberries, peaches, apples, pumpkins and Christmas trees during the growing season. Today, Eckert’s offers an experience that extends beyond pick-your-own produce to include the Eckert’s Country Store & Garden Center, and the newly expanded Restaurant. Eckert’s offers specialty foods, meats, wine and cheese selections, as well as a range of classes, including cooking and wine classes for adults, and special children’s activities for families to enjoy throughout the year.

  • My husband & love having breakfast dates here. You get a large country breakfast for a great price. Biscuits, bacon & homestyle potatoes are awesome!
  • This is the best farm, store ever. They make the best, freshest pies you ever had. We also meet Santa at Christmas, the grandkids loved it. Go, go go.. It is worth it.
  • A wonderful, authentic feel to the place - a proper family run establishment and you can tell everyone who works there is proud of it too. The food is home cooked and wonderful, if a little pricey.
  • Honestly, I used to love this place but since it's become such a popular and busy place, the quality has gone down and prices have gone up. The menu variety has GREATLY decreased and so has the great "down home country" flavor the food used to have. Not worth the 2 hour wait. Such a disappointment last 2 visits.
  • We go here for good food and family fun. Eckert's is full of fresh, farm-picked food and tons of unique tasting products! They feature a restaurant which is famous for their fried chicken, cooking classes for both adults and children, pick-your-own fruits and vegetables from spring - fall, and a summer concert series from Memorial Day - Labor Day, featuring a new local band every Fri/Sat night. I highly recommend the summer concert series. Bring your lawn chair and your kids for a fun time enjoying some beer, appetizers, and custard fresh from the farm house.
  • I first came here, a few years ago, after I was married. It seems that I went to the Millstadt one, when I was a tiny kid, for school field trips and with family. The one in Millstadt is more of a tourist attraction, with pig races, a maze, little shops and a play area. The one in Belleville, is more of the farm. This one has a huge grocery store, a great home-cooking restaurant and many farms and crops to pick-your-own.
  • My family had never been to the restaurant before, the food was quickly brought to us and it was good, the server however was not. I had to keep looking for her and she lacked a lot, I would not sit in her section again. We picked some remaining GALA apples that were ok, not great, but ok, my Granddaughter enjoyed it and the wagon ride. We did a little shopping in their store and it was nice.
  • Fun place to visit, even if you are travelling through. If you have extra luggage space, you can find some cool gifts for your frinds and family.
