  • Reading the gravestones was an experience not to be missed! It adds to one's understanding of how families were related, how many young children and babies died so young, who fought in the wars, etc.  more »
  • We were disappointed that the brochures they offer were out at the cemetery. We would have loved to have heard more about the people buried there. Next time we'll check at the Visitor's Center early. ...  more »
  • Very interesting. We picked up a brochure at the gate to the cemetery which explains many of the burial plots. A very peaceful and pleasant place to visit.  more »

  • I am already a fan of old, historical graveyards, but the Old Burying Ground has some of the most interesting stories about the people buried there. I have never personally been on the tour they offer, but have heard a story or two in passing. The guides are energetic and do a terrific job in storytelling. A graveyard may sound like a creepy stop on your vacation, but the stories are romantically tragic, simply romantic, and a bit ironic. Google the girl in the barrel - read the story and check out the pictures of the grave site as just one of many interesting tales.
  • Very neat and interesting place full of historic graves. It gave me chills to walk through knowing so many heroes were laid to rest here.
  • Interesting cemetery that has Graves from the early 1800s.
  • We enjoyed imagining the stories and lives of those who were buried here. Good for those who love history. The sacred grounds are well-kept and serene.
  • Take a self guided tour, see some interesting historical graves in this shady, peaceful place.
