  • We stopped by here one morning with the intention of just popping in to purchase my Lifetime Senior (you need to be at least 62) National Park Pass before the price goes up from $10 to $80 in the near...  more »
  • Prior to our trip to the Homestead, I had no idea of the history of the immigrant monument. Although many of these people from my home in the United States emigrated, I had heard nothing about it. I can recommend visiting the monument with its exhibition and information, before you look at the other buildings and possibly makes a tour of the landscape, the steppe. In the exhibition and possible stands one learns of the rules and conditions for establishing a Homestead, the incredible difficulties that the farmers faced.

  • June 2016: The staff here likes their jobs and it shows. It is worth the trip off the interstate. Family of 6, including 4 kids. We all learned a lot here. Very clean and very informative. Very friendly staff. Not a whole lot around the area in terms of gas or food Might be a good idea to have a full tank of gas and a full stomach upon exiting the interstate if you are driving it before coming here.
  • Great park center with a very detailed museum. Lovely trails with good directions. Dog friendly. Worth the drive from Leavenworth. Good views the whole way there. Loved the history of Homesteading, even the more 'modern' honesteading.
  • The Homestead National Monument has two museums, one being more modern and the other containing seasonal displays. Both are extremely well put together and provide an interesting learning experience. Between these two buildings are hundreds of acres of land, preserved to resemble a natural prairie, that is an absolute joy to walk through. Homestead is a must visit destination to learn more about our Nation's homesteading past.
  • Nice facilities and well maintained trails.
  • We had a wonderful ranger who was enthusiastic and great with our kids
