  • One of the 2 museums to see if you are in Baton Rouge. Authentic houses. Reproduction of a neighborhood of slave with the House of the supervisor. Other houses of rural areas; Cajun, Creole, etc... and utility type store, jail, post office buildings. I highly recommend paying a few dollars more to have access to the gardens. A few rich houses on this side (outside only). Also, a museum inside remarkable by the large amount of carts of all kinds, explanations and various objects. The Museum closer to the reality that I have seen in Louisiana. Visit 2 - 3 hours. $10 rural + $3 gardens. Combined with Louisiana State Museum (Baton Rouge), these are the 2 best museums I have seen for Louisiana.

  • Cool place to visit and fantastic location for Zapp's Beer Festival
  • This is a interesting museum. The most fascinating portion of the museum is seeing the historic carriages, coffins, and wheelchairs in the back of the museum.
