  • Great place to see on MDI! Beautiful views of the ocean and light house. Be ready to walk up and down stairs if you want to look at the lighthouse from the ocean view.  more »

  • It's an amazing place for sunset. Walk over to the boulders by the shore... there is a path by the corner of parking lot to reach there and enjoy the ocean view..
  • It's a 40 minute drive from Bar Harbor, but SPECTACULAR views are here that capture Acadia's beauty. The lighthouse is closed to the public, since it is an active US. Coast Guard Lighthouse, but the view is great. Next to the bathrooms, there is a trail that goes down to the rocks to get an even better view. Please go here on a visit to Acadia.
  • Best Time to go during evening; make sure to reach about an hour before the sunset
  • A breathtakingly beautiful place with stunning shorelines. But it's not easy to get a view of the lighthouse itself, because it is on the cliff with no good viewpoint.
  • The buildings are not open for touring but the scenery if breathtaking. On the day we were here we got a photo of the Schooner Victory Chimes, which is featured on the Maine Quarter with the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, as it sailed past the Bass Harbor Lighthouse.
