Ocean Path, Bar Harbor

(4.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Set within a national park, Ocean Path winds along the rugged coast and offers scenic views of the ocean. An easy, accessible gravel path takes you through a sweet-smelling spruce forest; along the way, a few small trails and rocky steps can bring you closer to the water. Explore the rocky ledges and hidden coves, but beware of the waves, which can get quite large at times. Early mornings and late afternoons see fewer crowds on this much-frequented path. • THis walkway is an opportunity to see some of the waterfront homes, and ocean views. Recommend allowing an hour, and afternoon before dusk.

  • A flat, smooth out-and-back coastal trail that runs from Sand Beach to Otter Cliffs passing Thunder hole along the way. Gradual elevation changes make this a very easy walk with wonderful views of the rocky coastline and the mountains inland.
  • I love this trail!!! Easy hiking path with amazing views. There are many paths from the trail where you can get out on to the cliffs. Makes for some amazing photos.. Highly recommend it you will not be disappointed.
  • Great trail , beautiful coastal hike. We also mounted the Bee Hive trail , that one is thrilling and we found it challenging.
  • The views are breathtaking. pleasant walk along the shore a must hike if on the area.
  • Easy, family-friendly hike from Sand Beach to Otter Cliff. One of the most beautiful hikes in Acadia!
