  • This is the oldest Washington Monument in the country. The Mount Vernon area of Baltimore once housed the wealthy of the city. It is still beautiful and probably expensive. The row houses are enormous...  more »
  • Surrendering his commission atop the monument, George Washington can see all of Baltimore and now so can YOU. When you're finished with the touristy attractions at the harbor, walk less than 1 mile up...  more »
  • Driving by one day I noticed it was opened and I had a little bit of time before my next work stop, so I stopped in and went to the top. Wow what a fun experience!

  • Relaxing, pretty space right in the center of the city. Fair amount of seating and shade. Great place to sit, read, and enjoy the green.
  • It's an okay monument to see but of if you miss it that's fine as well. My wife an I opted to pay the $6.50 each fee to walk the 257 steps up the spiral stair case to enjoy the panoramic view. It's an okay site to see but nothing breathtaking. Going up the stairs is at last a calorie burn. Beware though, if you are out of shape the climb could be pretty taxing. Overall something to see but not a must do your of activity.
  • The original Washington Monument. Second to none!
  • Nice place, nice neighborhood. Can be dangerous during nighttime though.
  • The oldest known statue or memorial of the father of the nation and the first president of it: George Washington, its made in 1829.
