  • Not so easy to park near, not so easy to walk to. Still, it is cool to stand and touch stuff that was put there a long, long time ago.
  • I've always liked these few blocks sitting right in the middle of the city, surrounded by traffic in all directions, but very quiet and relaxing here. We drove around the monument and noticed the door...  more »
  • To go to the top there are 227 steps which my wife could just not take so we did not do this. However, we were allowed to go inside and look around the ground floor, including an interactive touchscre...  more »

  • Relaxing, pretty space right in the center of the city. Fair amount of seating and shade. Great place to sit, read, and enjoy the green.
  • It's an okay monument to see but of if you miss it that's fine as well. My wife an I opted to pay the $6.50 each fee to walk the 257 steps up the spiral stair case to enjoy the panoramic view. It's an okay site to see but nothing breathtaking. Going up the stairs is at last a calorie burn. Beware though, if you are out of shape the climb could be pretty taxing. Overall something to see but not a must do your of activity.
  • The original Washington Monument. Second to none!
  • Nice place, nice neighborhood. Can be dangerous during nighttime though.
  • The oldest known statue or memorial of the father of the nation and the first president of it: George Washington, its made in 1829.
