Where to stay in Baltimore

For quick and easy access to practically all of Baltimore's major attractionswhile on holiday, follow the example of most tourists and stay near the Inner Harbor neighborhood. Few cities boast such a well-defined tourist district, it shouldn't come as a surprise that all the major chain hotels in the city are located right in this busy neighborhood. If you prefer to stay in a quieter area offering a bit more local character, consider one of the city's outlying districts, offering affordable accommodations and plenty of dining and shopping options.

  • This sub was used in WWII. It's really neat to think about all the history that sub has been a part of, and to get such a close-up experience is a little mind blowing. It's a really tight space, and a...  more »
  • Second time in Baltimore and decided to visit the U.S.S.Torsk , great decision ! I could not wrap my head around how the crew could actually survive in such small space ! Go see it for yourself !  more »
  • When I walked through, I felt claustrophobic and I was only inside for about 15 minutes. I can imagine what the crew felt like underwater for days.  more »

  • Awesome place to learn about the USN History as a Irish tourist! Especially great when the person you go with is in the USN! So cool to see the different sections like the mess deck etc. Even had old tins of McCormick spices!
  • A great place to feel like a kid. Winter special saw 3 ships for the price of 2. Very well maintained and great hands on experience throughout the ship. Unfortunately I could use the periscope but pushed every button and turned every nod that I could. I think my wife caught me role playing at one point or another.
  • It is an interesting place but it clearly misses a lot of explanation to be really exciting. So you just walk past a lot of stuff that you do not really understand. It could be more interactive.
  • It smelled of diesel greatly, yet experiencing the cramped spaces made me appreciate the audacity of submarine crews having to commandeer one of those under the ocean.
  • Great piece of history! A must see.
