Create an itinerary including Inner Harbor
A defining landmark, Inner Harbor featured water too shallow in the 18th century for heavy industry. In the 1970s, a visit from tall, masted ships attracted tourism and led to the development of the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, and the Harborplace festival marketplace. Restaurants, shops, and hotels fill the space between the attractions and create an attractive cityscape. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Baltimore holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Inner Harbor and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • At one time, probably in the 1990s the area was probably nice. It was many empty store fronts and chain restaurants. The National Aquarium and a Science Museum were nearby. There was also a welcome...

  • We were here on a Christmas evening. Most of the shops were closed barring a couple of souvenir stores. But, we absolutely loved the views of the water and had a fun time taking snaps of the reflections of buildings and ships. It wasn't too cold and the weather was good enough for a nice stroll. There are few historic ships stationed there. Parking was on the opposite side of the road.
  • I love Baltimore, but, they have some serious renovating to do / complete to this area. It's a great view and backdrop for photos. The harbor water stinks! The prices for tickets for the tourist attractions are high. Half of the stores are closed up and the appearance of the area needs major work. Come on Public works! Keep our city presentable!
  • The Baltimore Inner Harbor has great majestic views of the water. The 2 pavilions used to be the crown jewel of downtown Charm City. The restaurants and retail shops are all gone. It’s still a great area to walk around but there needs to be an investment to make things look more fresh and modern. The Inner Harbor is steps away from the famed “Charm’tastic Mile”.
  • The Baltimore Inner Harbor is a historic seaport and tourist attraction. The Harbor is within walking distance of Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium and many great restaurants and attractions, such as the Baltimore Museum of History, National Aquarium of Baltimore, and the Pratt Street Power Plant. The Harbor has also been updated to include Rash Field Park which includes a playground and pavilion overlooking the park which includes a skating area. You can also walk past the park down a cobblestone walkway to see the Famous Domino Sugar sign. It's a great place to visit with the family or if you just want to take a stroll alone and grab some of the best crab cakes.
  • The inner harbor is a terrific place to walk on a Sunday afternoon. Many restaurants and tourist kind of things to do like a harbor cruise or perhaps renting a paddle boat.
