  • Great place to step back in time. It's amazing how many graves are packed into such a small place. It's a quick walk through. They do offer guided tours on various days which would make this even more...  more »
  • This is a trip every English teacher needs to take! It was surreal being there! I thanked him for giving me great works to teach in October...someone left him some Raven Beer.
  • Having read many of Poe's books and writings and having visited many graveyards throughout the world, we found this an interesting place to visit. There were also many graves of the people involved in...  more »

  • I'd been there before, so wasn't lacking in information. However, the Docent who was there was filled with things I didn't know! He even told us about a part of the graveyard that, if you're just standing looking at the crypts, looks like the back of the graveyard. However, if you walk down the thin path between them (which if he had not told us was OK, totally looks like something you're not supposed to do!) and you get to more crypts. One, I believe he said, is called "The Egyptian" because it has faces carved on it. Altogether a great experience learning something new about a place I've been multiple times before!
  • Cool spot to visit. The gate was locked however so we couldn't get very close
  • You might as well make the trip and say you saw the grave and cemetery with other native Baltimore notable citizens buried there. Other than that it is a bit deflating. Like saying, is this it, well yes it is. There are interpretive plaques along the walk that inform you about the other notable people interned there. So it is pretty informative and for no fee involved it's a nice place to kill some time.
  • Amazing and interesting grave yard with a host of very old graves. Probably the most unique cemetery I have ever visited with graves nearly on top of each other and fighting for space. Some of Poe's neighbors are the founding fathers of Baltimore and add a richness to the history I did not expect.
  • Cool to see a little piece of history. I went on a rainy day and it was even better.
