Where to stay in Baltimore

For quick and easy access to practically all of Baltimore's major attractionswhile on holiday, follow the example of most tourists and stay near the Inner Harbor neighborhood. Few cities boast such a well-defined tourist district, it shouldn't come as a surprise that all the major chain hotels in the city are located right in this busy neighborhood. If you prefer to stay in a quieter area offering a bit more local character, consider one of the city's outlying districts, offering affordable accommodations and plenty of dining and shopping options.

  • Had been here ten years ago but was surprised on a recent trip (Oct. 2016) to find it more than half empty of merchants. Nothing there. Not worth the trip, can't see why locals would even venture into...  more »

  • Stop in and say hi at Steve's or Big Jim's. Steve's cannot be beat for breakfast on the run. Served with a smile! When going to Big Jim's bring your hunger. Sandwiches have to be seen to be believed. . . Open wide, they are huge
  • This used to be a great market with fresh vegetables and meats. It seems to be changing into more of a food court. That said, it's a great place to grab sushi and seafood with a beer to boot.
  • Great seafood and if you can get a place to sit and eat it, comes steamy hot and ready to eat. Great crowd and always a bouquet of flowers and candies for me when we leave. I even enjoyed the sushi! Steamed shrimp off the hook!! Oysters when in season.
  • I usually just come to get meat packages. You can get different packages of meat for fairly good price. And they have a couple good stalls to sit and eat at.
  • Hood classic! Love going here just to browse and check out things. It's a must that I stop by on every trip to Baltimore. More of a nostalgic thing for me.
