  • Buck Owens Crystal Palace is our favorite place to eat, when in Bakersfield. We have never had a bad meal at the Crystal Palace, and especially enjoy the Sunday Brunch. However, if you go to the brunc...  more »
  • The atmosphere here is exceptionally nice. I loved checking out the clothes Buck Owens wore during his concerts. The entertainment and food is also really good!  more »
  • This isn't just a place to go, it's a destination. I've been here many times. It's a great venue for dining, dancing, socializing and concerts. Even if all you do is look around, it's still cool, but ...  more »

  • Service is excellent, but the food is hit or miss, and it can be pretty expensive. Still, can't deny, it's interesting. Lots of decorations celebrating country music. If you like to line dance, you'll have fun.
  • Do you like music? Do you like.. uhm.. .food? Then this place is pretty much that! The prices aren't too great, but, everything else is good. If you go on a night when they host an event, you'll have a good time. Plus, there's a Cadillac in the wall! What could be better?
  • I am extremely disappointed in this place. I read a handful of reviews before going and I got the impression that it was a great place. I went in on a Saturday around 7pm without a reservation and said it was ok to sit at the bar. My wait was around 10 minutes which was more than acceptable in my opinion. The host didn't bring a menu and the bartender didn't offer one either. I told her I'm gonna have drinks and dinner on separate tabs. She returned with my drink but no menu. After a combination of looking at my phone and the Cadillac hanging in front of me for 20 minutes, a band started playing behind me. After a few more minutes I borrowed a menu from another customer and quickly made a decision. At 8pm, a different bartender took an order from a guy a few stools down. Thankfully this guy told him that I hadn't been waited on either so my order was taken next. I ordered the Don Rich - which is steak, 2 sides and biscuits. I asked if I could just double-up the green beans and add a salad (for $3 FYI). He just shook his head yes and walked away. My salad arrived quickly but with no silverware - that was 5 minutes later. After my salad was gone, the biscuits arrived! Really? Haha! My food arrived around 10 minutes later and I'm pretty sure I only got a single order of green beans cosidering how small the order was. They were tasty but just not plentiful. I just assumed that maybe they used the salad as a substitution instead so I didn't say anything. The steak is an 8-10oz in my estimation and was prepared medium as I requested. Unfortunately they use very high heat, or something, to cook it quickly - the outer layer is tough and chewy but the center was pink and somewhat bloody...Look, the place was packed, but from what I've read, that is normal. They have a very large staff on hand so they should be able to manage it fine. Besides my service, I heard them tell the nice guy 2 spots down that they were out of nachos (he wanted some version of nachos supreme) and then tell a young couple on my other side that they were out of 2 different beers that they had requested. Sounds like the manager in charge of stock needs retrained/replaced...The final issue that caused this 2-star rating is the $5.00 Admission Fee that was on my bill. I was never informed of any type of cover charge from anybody and I also was there 30 minutes before a band even started playing. That's pretty shady to be honest. Add all of this to the fact that a Captain and diet (regular rocks glass) is just over $8; and a small, not-so-well-prepared meal is over $30, and that ensures that I'll never return to this place. Bottom line: I do not recommend this place.
  • Food was not worth the price . A huge tourist trap. The website said band from 5 pm and did not star until 7:30 and a cover charge was charged,,, rip off. Food was cold and waitress offered to give us more after we ate. Told her to to just let the kitchen know.... did not seem to give a hoot.$100.00tabfor crap.
  • We stayed in Tehachapi which is a perfect place to getaway, but wanted to do something fun one day with the kids when we went into Bakersfield. This place was Fantastic! I have a 7 & 4 yr old and they loved it and danced their Lil hearts out! The music is great, the place is very cool and the kids enjoyed looking at everything, the staff was super nice. And I won't lie the food was top notch! We had the chicken fried steak & it was amazing.... probably the best I've ever had! The portions are huge, you can totally share!
