Where to stay in Badlands National Park

While Badlands National Park provides a handful of campgrounds within the park's boundaries, the Cedar Pass Lodge is the only place inside the park that gives you a roof over your head. Sitting 100 km (62.5 mi) away, Murdo is the most developed town east of the park. Here you'll find a handful of economy chain motels and locally owned lodges. About the same distance west of the park, Rapid City offers the same range of accommodations, but with more places to choose from. Rapid City provides more entertainment options and sits to the east of the Black Hills and north of Wind Cave National Park, making it a better choice as a place to stay if you're planning a longer vacation in the area.
