The newly expanded campus allows visitors the opportunity to experience birds of prey in a natural setting and to learn more about avian science and environmental conservation. The Center for Birds of Prey invites visitors to discover the life of raptors through guided walking tours, educational conservation programs and captivating flight demonstrations. We are open to the public three days a week for tours of the facility where you can see bald eagles, great horned owls, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and more! • This place is phenomenal. They do flight demonstrations and discuss the variances of flight and hunting. They flew owls, a red tail and a turkey vulture. They also took time to ask questions. Very knowledgeable people working for a great cause and they are all volunteers. When they are done, you can tour 2 areas (walk) where they keep the birds. Note: Slightly long walk across a fairly flat field to get to the bleacher like seats. It is South Carolina; it will be HOT in the summer so I suggest appropriate clothes, a hat and a water.
  • HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a little something to do that’s not on the beaten path or something you would think of as a day adventure. Super informative, the staff are great! It’s worth sitting through the demo and watching the birds they bring out and then walking the grounds. Everything is super clean and the bird enclosures are immaculate. Very impressed, we will absolutely be back.
  • We visited the Center on a road trip coming up the South Carolina coast. It is well worth you time and money to visit and support the center.
  • Beautiful birds and wonderful staff and volunteers. The lady that hosted the flight demonstration (Addie) was so knowledgeable and did a beautiful job sharing her knowledge of the birds.
  • Love photography days and the great access to magnificent birds. Always a great experience.
