  • The exterior design, does look out of place, the concept evidently was to replicate an old European town where the church was actually the center of the town. And there are hundreds of brand new home stretching out over the horizon, so people are flocking here and creating a town surrounding the church. There was no twon at all when the church was built. The church has a much more modern metal design look from the outside, but the front is traditional with lovely stone , statues inset and a fabulous and huge white marble sculpture of the Annunciation . When you enter the church, that is the beauty, the interior gives a feeling of an older style church , not like the modern warehouse churches, this is a sacred spot with a sacred feel and gorgeous soaring arches - a special place of worship and the interior design reflects that. An interesting use of modern materials replicating the beauty of a medieval cathedral.
  • Despite being recently built, the Ave Maria Oratory utilizes many of the features of Catholic churches used through the centuries. Dark tones throughout, the deep design of the pews, and high arches lends to a contemplative atmosphere. The Oratory is not merely a replica of an ancient cathedral. The skeleton of the Oratory is not stone as you might expect from an old church but plain, modern I-beams. During the day, light streams in from the many skylights. Another aspect that distinguishes the Oratory from an old-style church is the make-up of its congregation. While many old churches that commonly come to mind are filled with visitors and tourists, and might feel like more of a dusty museum than a place of worship, the Ave Maria Oratory is filled with a unique sort of energy. On weekdays the Oratory is filled near capacity daily for the noon Mass, mainly with students from the attached Ave Maria University. For a Sunday Mass it is necessary to come 10 or 15 minutes early in order to find a seat. By the start of Mass every seat will be filled with students, professors with their young families, other community members, and visitors. The walls will be lined with latecomers. Mass and other services at the Oratory become not just a monotonous way for Catholics to fulfill their religious obligations, but a beautiful and inspiring display of piety. This setting is facilitated by a space which fuses the new with the old, connecting a young, vibrant Catholic community with the ancient roots of the Catholic Church.
  • I love the church! The outside is WOW!. I haven't seen the inside yet but 👍God bless!
  • This church is a disgrace. The design is awful. The feeling moment you enter, is even worse. I can't believe this was approved by any sane thinking community. It's location destroys the entire town. Better to have a public park and remove this strange building.
  • A very beautiful and unique church--an interesting blend of gothic, modern, and Frank L. Wright.
