  • 88 degrees and sunny. This is a wonderful park for a stroll, bike ride, kayaking, swimming, or just plain people watching. There was ample free parking and no fee for admission to this park. Animals a...  read more »
  • If you live in or near Austin, you know about Zilker Park. The thing is, it's made up of lots of different places. There's the "park", the Botanical Gardens (gorgeous!), even a Trail of Lights during ...  read more »

  • This is a great park area. If it is the weekend, be prepared for dense traffic and difficult parking, which is all pay to park. The park has so many areas to enjoy that it would take many visits to see it all. This is the best park in the city and has almost everything anyone could want from a park. The only downsides are dogs that are not cleaned up after and the children's playground is really not very good at all. The playground is unique, but vastly too small for the size of the park and the number of children wanting to play. It is good for children 1-5, after that, there is no playground for the older kids to play on. And this is the best playground in the area.
  • I love this place! So much fun and always friendly. However their phone line needs a little help, I suggest getting a personal phone that rings directly to this spot because the woman answering questions is rude. This would make more business for people coming from out of town who are just trying to get some info! Thanks.
  • Zilker is the heart and central location for parks in Austin... I have spent a lot of time in this park for community events, volunteer opportunities, park maintenance, and disc golf events I promote. The park is a great hub of activity year round. If you are not sure what to do while you are here, come visit Zilker and find something. You have the choices of: - Disc golf - Ultimate Frisbee - Barton Springs swimming - Zilker train ride with family - running trails - hiking routes - ease of access to Barton Springs road - kite flying - so much more Not many negative things can be said about the park, but always follow the rules and bans on glass, open flames, and after hours activities..
  • We love the park because it's a leash free park and provides nice views of downtown Austin. We don't care for the long term closures for different events throughout the year. If it rains it does get swampy and when it doesn't rain the city thinks watering the grass during prime dog times is a good idea. It's still one of the best options for you and your pets.
  • It's the perfect combination of park and close to the city location. You can picnic, bring your pups out, join a boot camp program, play some frisbee or sand volleyball, all with a spectacular view of downtown austin. Cross the street from zilker park main and find yourself at the natural barton springs pool. Stay late enough and maybe catch a musical or shakespeare at the hillside barton theater or jump in on a drum circle.
