Charles Umlauf left a legacy of his sculptures where many of his pieces are exhibited inside and outside. This is a beautiful garden for a leisurely stroll to view many of Umlauf's pieces,  more »

If you have an appreciation for handcrafted sculptures that carry some local history come to this little plot of land and soak up the love of Charles Umlauf by way of sculpture viewing. If you want things to be a bit more structured or don't quite have an eye for sculpted art, ask for a tour guide they'll lead you to understanding. This places serves as a beautiful wedding and reception venue & the prices aren't too bad for the location.

Want to be whisked away in the artistry of the sculpture world? Well, this is the place. A natural, peaceful sanctuary to explore the many works of Charles Umlauf nested on a quiet piece of land downhill from his once private residence. His sculptures r lifelike & real leaving room for a personal interpretation. Guests weave through the garden by way of dirt paths, around ponds with lily pads, arching, large shade trees, a glass atrium for events & a welcoming that says take a seat, create & stay awhile. One could get lost in their own creative mind & world just as I imagine what Umlauf wanted us to. A definite must visit & see.

We saw alot of sculptors both inside and in a garden setting. A great place to meditate. We also learned about Farah Fawsetts' skills as a student for life of sculptor Umlauf. Most of the sculptors in the Garden were created by Umlauf.

Just a bunch of naked modern statues in a poorly landscapes garden. Much better areas to see and pay for in Austin

Enjoyed both the museum and garden very much. Staff at the entrance was very informative and friendly

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
