  • Great place to hang out and people watch. Oh, and shop. They have just about anything and everything you'd need all contained in this outdoor shopping mall. Great food, mostly high end stores and apple (oh and Microsoft if you're into that sort of thing). They just completed a new phase which includes a four story restoration hardware that's pretty amazing. If you visit that store be sure to check out the rooftop. The mall has grassy areas and play areas for kids (key!) and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for restaurants. It's a great setting with trees and green spaces and the family always enjoys spending time just meandering around the place. Parking can be a little challenging but they do have a couple of garages now with the new section open and that's relieved some of the overcrowding. There are also valet stations throughout the property in case you need to get in and out quickly and the cost isn't too bad. All in all a better way to shop in my opinion and a pretty cool development in north Austin.
  • The Domain has the widest range of offerings I've ever seen in a mall. The northern side is more upscale, with brand name stores, a Tesla location, and more. The southern end is more typical of a normal mall. Both sides have outdoor seating and tons of food options. The northern side also has a play area for kids in an open area that often hosts events and bands. All in all, it's a great mall to spend a day at. However, since the area is undergoing a lot of development, it can be hard to find parking during busy times. Don't waste your time trying to find an elusive street spot inside the mall area, just head over to a parking garage and enjoy the short walk to the shops.
  • Upscale shopping and Urban living area. It was super cool before they added another area large enough to double the size. Nordstrom and other high end shops you'd expect inside a mall. This has such a nicer feel. Delicious local restaurants abound. Younger bar-ish vibe in some areas so something for everyone. My daughter has lived in the apartments for the past 2 years and says it's safe and centrally located.
  • Outside mall experience is a great escape from the A/C and there are a number of parking to help those who prefer less walking. Shops are versatile and mall has lots of brands. The only thing I can say it isn't all that convenient for those who really can't spend the time there would be some of their on-the-street parking is always full.
  • I just love this place. Bring all your family and friends for a good nice day of shopping, eating, drinking, staying, and just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful view of upscale and bargain stores. On weekends there's beautiful art to purchase form local artist too.

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
