With places to eat, shop, and relax, as well as a distinct bohemian atmosphere, South Congress Avenue is a favorite hangout in the city. Often referred to as SoCo, the street has housed shops and galleries selling unique and handmade items for decades. If you're looking for a souvenir, explore the wide selection of funky clothes, accessories and household items. Sample some Tex-Mex or barbecue at one of the restaurants, or head to a bar for a pint of local beer. Some of the restaurants and bars have patios, which are perfect for people watching. Of course, no visit would be complete without a stop in the iconic music venues located here. The latest addition to the street are food trucks, where you can grab a taco or a sweet on the go. If you’re diving, bear in mind you may have to spend some time looking for a parking spot. Make South Congress Avenue part of your personalized Austin itinerary using our Austin trip builder.

  • Just visit was less than 4 minutes, but bad customer service last forever!!! Tall guy with the pale skin behind the counter, here's a tip..when a customer comes in and says, "hello," the thing you don't do is stand with your mouth shut, blank staring at me like I just walked into your livingroom interrupting your Olympic binge-a-thon! A customer should never feel like a dentist...pulling for info. The price of shipping my package didn't turn me away, your "I should have called out today" dry delivery and overall tainted energy turned my "yes" into a "no" long before you told me the cost. Hope they have a better appreciation for folks spending their hard earned money at the location downtown. NamastĂ©!
  • I have never had any problems shipping or faxing anything at this location! The staff is always friendly and helpful! I'm shocked at some of these reviews because I have never had a bad experience...but I have never shipped anything except paperwork either.
  • This location has been reported to the better business bureau for failing to perform the basic operations for which it was established. My team had seven packages scheduled to be delivered to this location. We had called to confirm these deliveries multiple times in the two-week lead up to the arrival dates and were assured they would be accepted. Yet of the seven packages directed here, only one was accepted. In attempting to resolve the fallout from this mess, one of our vendors realized in looking through their files that this location has repeatedly refused to perform their jobs on multiple deliveries over the last 18 months. They have blacklisted them and are considering filing suit due to the significant compensation costs. Long story short, please save yourself the headache and avoid this franchise location.
  • My shipment was mishandled at their facility causing a massive delay. When I tried to reroute a single package, all they can say is "I'm sorry we can't do anything". My attempts to sort it out with their management have resulted in nothing. They promise me return phone calls when they "get more information", but they never call back. I needed this package for my business, and ups just doesn't care about that. Take my advice. Use FedEx or the USPS. Oh, and I'd give them ZERO stars if I could. Terrible service, terrible company.
  • I WILL NEVER USE UPS AGAIN- and I hope ANYONE WHO SEE'S THIS WILL THINK TWICE before using them. I paid for extra insurance to ship a plaster statue to Michigan from Austin. UPS wanted $75 for packaging + $55 in shipping to repack my item which I could not afford. So the manager helped me wrap the statue in their own bubble wrap and repack the item in my box- stuffed with newspaper which is all I had. Well the package arrived in Michigan BROKEN and when I filed a claim after paying extra for insurance it was denied because the package contained newspaper- they said it was an automatic reason to deny a claim. The manager saw me put the newspaper in she even helped package the statue and warned about the shipment- WTF is up with UPS- THE WORST SHIPPING COMPANY I have ever worked with and the MOST EXPENSIVE- now I am out the cost of the item, all that shipping, and I owe the buyer EVEN MORE MONEY- WTF is the INSURANCE FOR to line the companies pockets. TOTALLY UNAMERICAN COMPANY THAT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND REPORTED TO THE FTC.
