With places to eat, shop, and relax, as well as a distinct bohemian atmosphere, South Congress Avenue is a favorite hangout in the city. Often referred to as SoCo, the street has housed shops and galleries selling unique and handmade items for decades. If you're looking for a souvenir, explore the wide selection of funky clothes, accessories and household items. Sample some Tex-Mex or barbecue at one of the restaurants, or head to a bar for a pint of local beer. Some of the restaurants and bars have patios, which are perfect for people watching. Of course, no visit would be complete without a stop in the iconic music venues located here. The latest addition to the street are food trucks, where you can grab a taco or a sweet on the go.
