  • This is a pretty cool place to visit, but you have to be ready to walk a little outside - so don't go on a hot day. However, make sure you check out their events and such. For instance, they have regu...  more »

  • Super hot, everything is far away! Nothing much to see, a couple of houses with interesting carriages. That's it. If you have nothing else to do might be interesting but do not plan this as a fun day....  more »

  • I have been going to Pioneer Farms for nearly 15 years, and it has only become better with time. The volunteers and friendly and helpful and the environment is calm and peaceful. It's like stepping through a time machine. I started going with my family as a teen and am so excited that I can be In my child to experience the wonder. Not only is it a farm with animals to look at and various crops and antique farm tools, it is a museum that allows you to immerse yourself in history, not just look at glass cases and plaques (though there are a few of those, they are well placed and very comprehensive). They also have a great trail that allows you to feel closer to nature. Over all of I could give them 10 stars I would. 5 out of 5 just isn't enough.
  • Took the family to A Prairie Christmas Carol. It was fantastic. The entire family enjoyed it. It runs about an hour as you move from one interactive scene to another through the classic Dickens tale. If you are looking for Christmas activity for the family, I can't recommend this enough.
  • Ever improving local historic site. Self-guided tours for the independent types most days, but the best times to go are when there are demos and other events. Check website for schedule. Don't miss the Halloween trail and A Prairie Christmas Carol events which are fun too.
  • First time there today, working on it as a location set for TV series. It was very cool, great historic structures and surprising in it's suburban surroundings. I plan to return sometime for one of their events.
  • My family and I had so much fun here this past weekend. We absolutely loved it. I didn't really have high expectations so it was easy to exceed them. But even if I did it still would have. Lots of fun for history buffs. Tons of old houses and buildings from around the area to explore and learn about. There are even some long horns, chickens, and horses on site. Take a few hours and go check it out. You will be glad you did.
