Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.

  • This is our second time there. We were so pleased last time and brought our group of 28 people there on Mother's Day eve to Watch Sunset. The view is awesome. We all love it. The beer is good, but the...  more »
  • This is the place to go for a view and for a good place. We got some beer, the beer was pretty good, but honestly you are there for the view. Have to say this is probably one of the best views in Aust...  more »
  • Killer views from the various balconies, but it's all about timing to get an outdoor table. We were looked after very well, and had some amazing appetisers to share, but the rest of the meal was a bit...  more »

  • Do NOT eat the food. Unless you want sub par overpriced Chili's. But the view is gorgeous and the service was wonderful. They do open earlier than the posted time, so get a good seat early and enjoy the view.
  • Great location and one of the best views from a brewery taproom I've ever seen. It's definitely a touristy place and is sort of difficult to find. I would also expect warm weather days to be busy. The beer was decent enough. The view of Lake Travis alone makes the trip worth it.
  • All I can say is WOW. The pictures online do not do this place justice. I feel like if you are looking for a beautiful view of This part of Austin while enjoying the brewery vibe than this is the place to go! Unbelievable, gorgeous, good beer, friendly people. DEFINITELY GO SEE IT!
  • Great location and stunning view, but service was extremely slow. You order drinks and food at the bar (no table service), and despite there being two bars, both had huge lines that absolutely crawled forward. Mid afternoon on a Saturday, wasn't that crowded, and waited 20 minutes for a beer. The beer was ice cold and tasty, but the quickly lengthening line put off any idea of getting a second, or trying the food.
  • This place is awesome. Finally a decent brewpub out by the lake. I stress brew pub because this place has excellent food and beer. The wagyu beef burger is juicy and flavorful. The slow ride beer is my favorite but honestly I don't think I tried a bad one. Lastly you can't beat the view. The brewery is in the same complex as the Oasis. So often I hear people say that the food and drinks at the oasis aren't that great but that they go for the view. Well, the Oasis Brewing Company (different and not affiliated with the Oasis restaurant) has good food, affordable beer, and the same view! It's a no brainer.
