  • First time ever visiting ATX and thought I'd check this spot out. There is a $12/person fee. Personally, it was a waste of time. This is more of a place for families with kids. I wouldn't recommend it...  more »
  • The museum is a little small basically just a long hallway but it has some interesting things in it. A guy takes you to a converted garage and does some side show things that are a little gross but yo...  more »
  • I don't mind weird, but the museum needs a good cleaning. The Black Scorpion was kinda funny but we didn't appreciate the dig at Trump or the church/God comment. The staff in the store were super frien...  more »

  • This was an amazing experience! You will definitely get the weird you want but an amazing story as well. The lady at the desk was super sweet and answered our thousand questions. Mr. Black Scorpion was super rad! Awesome story, acting, everything!!! Especially love his punny humor and drive for doing what he loves. Plus he had awesome posters and buttons!!!
  • Cool staff! Very welcoming and friendly! Extremely cool and unique gifts ranging from figurines to taxidermy jewelery! The entertainment was fantastic, funny and charming! Also some cool attractions in the back, definitely warrants a visit!!! Go see for yourself. Be warned, dress for heat in the summer
  • Incredible experience. First you go on a self guided tour through the collection of oddities! From skeletons to mermaids and shrunken heads it gets pretty freaky. After you go on a tour through a wax museum which was pretty cool as well. What sealed the deal for me was the psychic act at the end. It was absoluletly astonishing. The man who guided the tour was also very friendly and personable. If your looking for a thrill while in Austin Texas you should definatly stop by the museum of the weird!!!!!!
  • What a great place to stop in when you are in Austin! Well worth it! There are so many cool things on the walls. Take your time and look at each little thing. There is so much to see! The show was very entertaining! I can not tell you the secrets but they are incredible! Thank you Ravencraft for the history behind the exhibits. It made it even better.
  • This place would be fine if it was $5 however it is more expensive than the Texas museum and art the art museum. For $13 I saw two dozen mildly interesting pieces and then a very crappy magic trick. It is not worth it in anyway.

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
