Museum of The Weird Reviews

The museum alone is pretty corny and hokey, but we knew that going in so our expectations were in the right place. I was shocked and annoyed at the cost to get vs. what you get. The hallways are cramp... more »

Could have had more weird stuff to see but overall was interesting and the tour guide Sal was cool and interesting himself with a mind reading trick he did with the audience . more »

Happened upon The Museum of the Weird while walking down Dirty Sixth Street. Since Austin is Weird we did not hesitate to enter. The $12.00 entrance fee did seem high. The exhibits were interesting an... more »

This is a really awesome museum they have some really unusual stuff kids absolutely loved it I had a great time, The tour was a little bit longer than we expected about 45 minutes to an hour but other than that I had no complaints had some really interesting and amazingly cool stuff, The lady behind the counter was very attractive and didn't mind helping me out at all. I have a whole group of friends or just freaks and geeks who would absolutely love this I will be recommending this place to them. Make sure to use the bathroom or eat some food before you take this to work as like I said it is about 45 minutes but it is absolutely worth it.

The museum is divided in three sections, the first being a walk through/movie that leads to the second part. The second part consists of a humerous sideshow and their special exhibit. The third and final part is a wax museum that is pretty awesome. It's a really cool experience where you get to see all types of oddities and other bizarre items. It's truly a unique experience.

The staff are super nice and interesting folks. I enjoyed the kookiness of the various items in the museum. The gift shop was also pretty neat. I don't want to spoil anything--you'll just have to see for yourself!

Employees were energetic and the shop was well kept. Personally, I was not interested but was actually uncomfortable by the museum's content. It was interesting but would recommend it only to the ones who enjoy true oddities.

Absolutely amazing! Staff was nice, and make the experience fun and interactive. For parents whom have kids under the age of 5, I do not recommend. This is not for the faint of heart, as I yelped twice during the mini tour. For parents traveling to experience the weirdest things in Austin, THIS is the place to be. Make sure to bring money as the gift shop is as cool as the museum itself. But overall, I would definitely consider this a family friendly place, considering they could handle my party of 6. With an excellent experience, I would definitely recommend this tourist destination.
