Complete with 16 km (10 mi) of paths for foot and cycle traffic, Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail offers a scenic circuit in the heart of the city. The trail loops around lake, which was named for Lady Bird Johnson, the former First Lady, who was dedicated to beautifying the lake and creating a recreation area around it. In addition to crushed granite pavement, the trail has sections of boardwalk. Walk, jog, or bike around, or relax on one of the many benches and enjoy the green scenery.   • I love to run this trail whenever I get the chance. You get a taste of what Austin has to offer. Paddle boarding, Canoeing, museums, Food trucks, bats its never a dull moment . 
  • Wonderful walk along the trail. Beautiful in the sun, you can ride along the water too and is a great way to see that part of the city 
  • I was staying at the Hotel Van Zandt and borrowed one of their bicycles to ride on the bike/pedestrian path. The path is well used and offers good views. I found myself getting lost often and having t...  more »
