  • Fun place to go. Brewery with free tours at certain times. The beers I found great. You should be of sour beers. You can also get delicious pizzas. The location is great. Large outdoor area and enough space where the children can play

  • Jester King was one of the better breweries I've ever been to. Very large beer list including bottles and taps from other brewers. The best part is the pizza in the farmhouse on site though. Artisanal...  more »
  • This has been on my bucket list for a long time, so I was, admittedly, looking forward to this trip. However, the beauty of this location and the pastoral setting were far more than I expected. My wif...  more »

  • Great selection of eclectic sours and funky beers. Awesome outdoor seating area in the middle of Austin hill country. The perfect place on a sunny day. One of the best brewery tours. Great to get the tour of their unique natural fermentation process.
  • Austin hill country mandatory stop. Beautiful property with PLENTY of room and seating to hang out, even on very busy days. Their take on beer is very unique and they execute it flawlessly. Stanley's Farnhouse Pizza is right there for grub, so its a good one stop shop. A must try.
  • Drinking real farmhouse sours on a big ranch and eating coal fire pizzas in Texas hill country is never a bad way to spend the day. Amazing selection of sours brewed on site and beers from other local breweries. Plenty of picnic table style seating outside. Free tours go on throughout the day as well!
  • Went to Jester King on the recommendation of a friend. Pictures online make it look great. Beers were subpar for the hype and the legacy of the brewery. The venue is not well thought out at all. Not a single room in the place (besides the restrooms) has A/C. This is 2017 and the place is in the heart of Texas where it is 100+ regularly. They don't even have misting fans. The next door pizza place does though (which they claim as their own). Also, the taproom is incredibly small, and the service is amazingly slow. Lines around the corner just waiting for my lukewarm beer. The service is very slow and not friendly at all. And to top it all off they underpour your glass if they are on the end of a bomber.... better get a draft. So disappointing. You guys can do better Jester King. We want you to do better! Hire a facilities manager and step up your game so you can join the elite microbrewery gang.
  • This place is awesome. It's a huge outdoor area with tons of open space to hang out, play bags, and just enjoy the weather. Jester King makes some of the best Wild and sour ales in the world. I visited on a hot (86 degrees) February day and the place was absolutely packed. They had an outdoor draft and bottle line in case you didn't want to wait for the line going inside. The beers were fantastic. It's definitely off the beaten path, but well worth a visit.

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
