  • This is a great place to visit to showcase Austin's creativity! It is an open wall for people to come and put their art on display for everyone to see. It's a fun outdoor space to go see all the art a...  more »
  • Kids enjoyed the art. I couldn't stay out there as there is always a stench of spray paint and my asthma wouldn't tolerate it. We went two different times. Always seems to be someone painting. Parking...  more »
  • Great Austin Activity! Enjoyable for all ages. Interesting Street Art. Parking can be a challenge but well worth your time to experience The Gallery!  more »

  • Bring spray paint or you will wish you had! Me my husband and or 2yr old, 5yr old and 7 yr old really enjoyed this stop. You can make it quick or stay awhile and chat with artists. There is no legal parking close but everyone parks along the road anyway. We parked at the bottom of the hill and walked to the gallery. It is easy to get from the bottom to the top especially if u walk up the hill all the way to the right. Very pretty view of Austin at the top. Recommended for most ages
  • Its a large lot with graffiti covering every available wall space. Seriously what else do you need to know?! Go out there and check it out. It's pretty awesome and requires a wee bit of climbing but is worth it. Bring your own spray paint and leave some art behind to share with everyone. That would make for a fun outing 😃
  • Love this place. The amount of creativity and beauty that has poured into this place over the years is staggering, but definitely worth the visit. I was lucky enough to catch one of the artists working on a piece during my time there. Highly recommended.
  • Its a very interesting place. Lots of pro artists were there working on their art pieces when I visited. The walk up to the top on the side of hill was not tough for me, but some may find in challenging. Nice views from up there. Only downside are all the tourists with spray cans who know nothing about street art!
  • Cool place to go see graffiti if you're into it, you can see the artists working. Not too big so you can stop by quickly to see it. Not a ton of street parking or shade, so go in the morning.

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
