  • Awesome place to view and buy art! Not very big, nor the easiest place to get around. Lots of dirt and rock hills to climb and scale. All of the shade is at the bottom (where the seats are, thank goodness). Other than that, cool place with cool artists and a cool purpose! It's like a tiny adventure/hike/ art installation ( all of my favorite things)
  • This is an amazing place to visit in Austin. I recommend stopping by at Home Depot and bring your spray cans. GREAT views! Great spot to hang out with friends and go free with your art! LOVE IT!
  • Fun to visit and see the murals and random art left by professionals and amateurs. Buy a couple spray paint cans and make your own art. It is a bit rocky and some areas are hard to climb if you are with younger or older folks. Don't let that deter from visiting this place though. Observation can be done at the lowest level easily.
  • An amazing place to visit if you love any type of artwork or even want to contribute. There's typically artists there either selling their work or creating it. A downfall to going here is that it's really hard to find parking.. we had to go a block away. I'd definitely recommend going at the end of the year when it's not as hot and the plants aren't in the way. BRING COMFY CLIMBING APPROPRIATE SHOES. If you don't intend to climb all the way to the top then wear whatever you want.
  • Are you an art lover? Want to watch artists in motion? Are you an artist that wants to display your work? Go to Graffiti Park and see or do exactly that. The art doesn't last long but don't worry because photographers are there to capture the moment. If you don't see art you like on the day you go, check out the booth where they sell prints of the art that came before you. Buy a few spray cans or bring your own and tag a wall. There is a little bit of hiking, jumping, and general physical exertion involved if you want to see it all and make it up to the castle lawn. You can't go near the castle but it is still a site to see.

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
