  • * Great selection of womens boot brands I love; Lucchesse, Corral, & Old Gringo. They even have some equestrian options. * Selection is very good and prices are reasonable for the brands they have. * ...  more »

  • I am not a cowboy boot fan... but I figured, you know what, I will take a look, maybe they might have something to tempt me... I was definitely tempted... but once I saw the price, well, lets say stic...  more »

  • 7 years ago while driving through Austin we stopped by here. My spouse tried on a Stetson and looked amazing in it. We couldnt afford it at the time, but I swore I would return and put that hat upon their head. I fulfilled this vow, and it still looks great. What I am trying to convey is that Allen's is an established institution among Austin's western wear, with knowledgeable helpful staff and a peerless selection.
  • Great selection, helpful staff. No bathroom so I had to go find a bathroom before I could shop. Anyplace else I would have gone to find a bathroom and not come back. After I went through all that hassle and came back, their boots are too expensive. Not competitive. I found the same boots they had at other stores for half the price. I went to 4 other boot stores and got the boots I wanted at Harley, 2 pair for $400.00.
  • Great selection and customer service. Went in today with a hat I bought there seven years ago and the fella reshaped it for free as a courtesy. Definitely going back.
  • Such a cool place to stop into! For someone whose not from the state this store embodies everything I imagined Texas to be. They are covered wall to wall in cowboy boot, all different colors and price points and have a section for cowboy hats and gun holders. This store is definitely a must see for tourists.
  • I came to the door at 6pm tonight and a dark haired girl had keys in her hand and as i was walking in i told her i wanted to buy a pair of boots real quick and she said no she was closing. If i owed that store and my employee turned down $1,000 pair of boots i would be f’n mad as hell! She should be fired and the customer service sucked! And i just found out the girl is the manager!

Where to stay in Austin

Austin bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World," so it shouldn't come as a surprise that many of its hotels sell out long before the city's popular festivals. If you wish to stay near downtown's live music scene, look for package deals and book your accommodations well in advance. If downtown clubs and bars aren't your priority, consider hotels located just outside the central part of town, in comfortable areas where you won't need a car to get to most of the city's major cultural sites.
