Wildwater Kingdom, Aurora
Wildwater Kingdom was a 17acre water park located in Aurora and Bainbridge Township, Ohio, United States. Owned by Cedar Fair, the park opened in 2005 as part of the larger Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom resort. The site was previously the location of SeaWorld Ohio (1970–2000) and later served as the marine life section of the larger Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (2001–2003). Worlds of Adventure was purchased by Cedar Fair in 2004 and the marine life area was converted into a water park for the 2005 season.Cedar Fair closed the Geauga Lake amusement park following the 2007 season but kept the water park area open. It was first known as Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom, and the name was later shortened to Wildwater Kingdom. Its normal operating season extended from late May to Labor Day each year. The park featured 15 water slides including Thunder Falls, which opened as the tallest water slide complex in Ohio. In August 2016, Cedar Fair released a statement announcing the permanent closure of Wildwater Kingdom. Its final day of operation was September 5, 2016.HistoryBackgroundWildwater Kingdom operated on the former site of SeaWorld Ohio. In January 2001 SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment sold the SeaWorld park to Six Flags, who combined the former SeaWorld site with Six Flags Ohio to form a 750acre amusement, marine and water park called Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. In March 2004, Six Flags announced that it had sold Six Flags Worlds of Adventure to Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.

  • Amazing I'm going to miss this place with all my heart! The best wave-pool I've ever been in and the most beautiful lazy river! The slides are thrilling and the workers are nice and friendly Ive actually made friends with some of them WildWaterKingdom is my home
  • The workers were all helpful! However, Ridiculously expensive for everything! Locker rental was $10, $15, & $20! Water was $4.00! Double rider tubes had to be rented.$8 We have kids that are below 48" and above 48" so they couldn't ride the same rides even with a parent. Also, they only allow you to go out of the park once, why??? I purchased tickets online to save some money and then they charge you a $9.99 processing fee, Really! Verry disappointed, won't be back! There are other parks that do a better job for less $.
  • Definitely will miss this place...that last piece of Geauga Lake (the amusement park was a great part of my childhood). Not only did it create an interest in wanting to be a part of the amusement park and water park industries as a career (and what I graduated college for), but it gave me a summer job opportunity. Overall was a nice atmosphere!
  • This is a great place to take the kids and still relax even with them being around water. Prices for food is astronomical though
  • I've had a season pass 2 years in a row. It can be a fun time if you know the ins and outs. First off, never buy the food there. It is WAY over priced. If you decide on going more than two times in one summer, buy the season pass- it pays for itself if you go more than two times. Keep the food in a cooler in your car because they don't allow you to bring food in the park. When you are ready to eat, go out and eat at the picnic tables that are provided a in the shade to the right of the entrance. A free pop refill bottle is also worth the price of $25 for all summer. Do not go on the toilet bowl first thing. The line will take for ever. A little before closing now is the time to go on the toilet bowl, the line should be a 5 min wait at most. Oh yeah, one last thing. When you are going down the toilet bowl, lift your butt off the tube and pull up as hard as you can on the handles as you go down the drop. You will go EXTREMELY FAST and higher than anybody else on the slide. It is a really fun time for the kids. I go there once per week. Very clean facilities. And those body slides are amazing. Have fun.
