Wildwater Kingdom was a water park located in Aurora and Bainbridge Township, Ohio, United States. Owned by Cedar Fair, the park opened in 2005 as part of the larger Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom resort. The site was previously the location of SeaWorld Ohio (1970–2000) and later served as the marine life section of the larger Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (2001–2003). Worlds of Adventure was purchased by Cedar Fair in 2004 and the marine life area was converted into a water park for the 2005 season.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Wildwater Kingdom by using our Aurora day trip planning website.
Cedar Fair closed the Geauga Lake amusement park following the 2007 season but kept the water park area open. It was first known as Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom, and the name was later shortened to Wildwater Kingdom. Its normal operating season extended from late May to Labor Day each year. The park featured 15 water slides including Thunder Falls, which opened as the tallest water slide complex in Ohio. In August 2016, Cedar Fair released a statement announcing the permanent closure of Wildwater Kingdom. Its final day of operation was September 5, 2016. It was demolished in November 2017.

This small, hometown water park is the last amusement park/water park to close in this location. Cedar Fair (owner of cedar point) bought it, like other since-closed parks, and then closed it for... more »
Unfortunately, this place is closing its door for good. Was always a fun place to go but cedar fair has chosen to purge itself of the park. more »
does anyone know if anything is still standing here or next door at the old geauga lake or if somebody owns it now?
It was the best adventure I had ever had. I am still mad from this day that cedar fair ruined all of it. It was so close to home. And I been through the history from day one to closing all of it down. Great history. I miss all of it.
I have been to quite a few water parks in my life. It was amazing clean. The water was crystal clear and super clean. Some of the ride lines were long but that is how theme parks work. The kids area was great. There was only a few exits out limiting the kids to a certain piont. I was impressed and will be returning.
On June 30, 2015 around 2 PM I arrived at the park with my 2 small children having never been there before. We were having a pretty good time until the rain started around 4. Unlike most people, we decided to stick it out and wait for the rain to stop. During this time, we sat outside the food stand and ordered quite a: bit of food and drinks to pass the time. At 5:15 PM, the rain stopped. We were then told the rides would re-open at 5:30. At 5:30 we rode a few slides and were then told at 6PM that we needed to leave the park because they were closing. Several employees and management told us they were closing due to too few customers in the park. Park services said they do not offer refunds or rain-checks but I could fill out a "comment card". I decided to fill it out and was told that someone would call within the next couple of days. Nobody ever did. I don't understand why my kids should suffer due to their "lack of customers". We paid and ate their food. I also understand why they don't want to operate the park when they aren't making any more money, but the least they can do is offer the very few of us still there tickets to come back again.
Amazing I'm going to miss this place with all my heart! The best wave-pool I've ever been in and the most beautiful lazy river! The slides are thrilling and the workers are nice and friendly Ive actually made friends with some of them WildWaterKingdom is my home
