  • If you come to visit Merced or you're passing through you have to visit this museum. This is probably the best kept outdoor air museum in North America. The base itself is a cold war icon. Do not miss visiting this unique piece of American history.
  • Great museum. Wear sunscreen in summer as it has numerous large bombers and cargo planes, and very little shade. Great staff, and great collection of aircraft, SR-22 is my favorite. They also do open cockpit days and have great events throughout the year.
  • This is simply one of the best aircraft museums ... especially on the west coast. Even if airplanes have a limited interest to you ... you will be awed at the human ingenuity that created so many incredible machines over such a short span of human history.
  • A great collection of old military aircraft, at a former Air Force base. Go on Open Cockpit day (labor day weekend and memorial day weekend) so you can go INSIDE most of the planes.
  • If you are an aviation junkie you need to check this place out. Very cool gift shop and super friendly staff. Had a blast checking out this area!
