Where to stay in Atlanta

Most of Atlanta's top hotels cluster in a downtown area with an easy-to-remember name--the Hotel District. The city's political and commercial hub, this area offers quick walking access to most major attractions. Another good area for boutique hotels and rental apartments is the ever-expanding Midtown, with proximity to most of Atlanta's big-name museums and theaters. If you're looking to save some money on accommodations, explore options in the more economical chain hotels outside downtown; from there, you can take the city's public transport to centrally located attractions and activities.

  • Great place to take in a show. We went with a group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves not only with the show but the ambiance of the place. It is a truly beautiful theater and the seating is...  more »
  • Don't miss a visit to the Fox. It's a fabulous place built in the early 1920's and with a very interesting history. The Moorish style architecture is amazing. I was there last night for a sold out per...  more »
  • We went for a special screening of "Gone With the Wind". The theater was full and so we sat upstairs. Great view. We looked down at the organ player and were reminded of how it used to be. The decor a...  more »

  • The Fox is one of a kind! Beautiful, historic, and revered by all performers and lovers of the fine arts! Definitely take a backstage tour, so worth it! The Broadway in Atlanta series always fantastic, if you mainly prefer musicals. The upcoming season has a fabulous lineup and is already sold out of season tickets for the series! But you can still get individual tickets to separate shows. If you have a special anniversary, date night or birthday coming up, an evening at the Fox will make it so special!
  • The place is very beautiful. First time ever to go see Chris Rock was at the Fox Theater. As we were waiting on the show, one of the staff members was very friendly and nice kept us really entertain. They have nice lighting . Will be back for the tour . 😊
  • It's beautiful. Really stunning. But no matter what show I've been to, the lines for everything were ridiculously long. The first few times, I thought maybe they were just under staffed, but it's always like this. I recently saw Chris Rock and the venue was so hot that everyone was fanning themselves and complaining. It's a shame to be sitting in such a pretty place sweating to death.
  • I watched the performance called Finding Neverland. The performance was really great! I was expecting more from the building and crowd though. The building was kind of gross and damp, concessions took 25 min, bathroom is a ridiculous maze, and parking is confusing. This may be standard, but don't forget you have to go through security at the beginning and they confiscate pocket knives. Also everybody was in jeans. It was more casual than I expected.
  • Pretty nice venue for live events, concerts, tournaments, talent shows, theater. The seats are pretty comfortable and the view is pretty good from most seats. The concessions are kind of expensive, and they will close without prior notice well before the end of the show.
