  • I always thought that “High” was a pretentious name for Atlanta’s museum…until I discovered it was named for the High family that in 1926 donated their home to serve as the city’s first art repository...  more »
  • I have always loved this place. Go on a weekday when the crowds are low. I particularly like the contemporary galleries.  more »
  • Keep checking and you'll find a source for some of the greatest music America has to offer. Examples would be Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Boz Scaggs, to name just two.  more »

  • We loved our visit to the High! It was packed on the Sunday we went (which is wonderful that it's so well-used), and we're reciprocal members with another southeastern museum, so we were able to get in for less money. Both the special exhibits and the permanent collection were wonderful and incredibly interesting. We'll definitely be back again!
  • Love the sculptures. Building is beautiful and the set up is nice
  • I came here to shoot photography. It was great! The musuem is beautiful and the artwork is amazing to see and very creative. I didn't get a chance to see everything so I have to make more trips back to get the full experience but I enjoyed it!
  • I'm a major art buff and happened to have been staying in Atlanta at the time and HAD to check it out. I took a few photos and showed them to my friends in the U.K. and most of them are dying for me to take them the next time I go. If you are visiting Atlanta, this place, the world of Coca Cola, and the Georgia Aquarium are a must.
  • I'm not usually an art museum person but was staying nearby and decided to visit. Glad I did. They have some very unique and creative pieces. Fun place to check out if you have the time.
