  • I really enjoyed the High Museum. It has some lovely pieces, well spaced out and not too crowded. Highly recommend a visit.  more »
  • The main theme changes so make sure to visit the website to see what exhibit is on display. My favorite was the Louvre. They had the Chinese warrior statues and I missed it. The facilities are great. ...  more »

  • Excellent permanent exhibits. The Warhol exhibit was great too. I mean it's Andy Warhol, how can you go wrong? The High is spacious and well thought out. There is a natural flow to the way things are laid out. Highly recommend.
  • This was my first visit to an art museum. It was an interesting, enlightening experience. They have an extensive collection of pieces covering all eras. I spent an hour and a half in the museum. It was fun to try and analyze the pieces and then read the brochure to see how close or far off I was. I HIGHLY recommend the High Museum of Art for all.
  • Great exhibits! Full of fun for the entire family. Make sure you plan your day to allow yourself enough time to thoroughly enjoy the entire museum.
  • Free jazz concert was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed Faith Carmichael and her band. Donald Locke's exhibit was worth fighting rush hour traffic. Andy Warhol exhibit was good.
  • Great exhibits. But honestly they present some art that is better left in the dumpster... most of it is amazing but they choose to display certain pieces that must be by friends of the curator or something

Where to stay in Atlanta

Most of Atlanta's top hotels cluster in a downtown area with an easy-to-remember name--the Hotel District. The city's political and commercial hub, this area offers quick walking access to most major attractions. Another good area for boutique hotels and rental apartments is the ever-expanding Midtown, with proximity to most of Atlanta's big-name museums and theaters. If you're looking to save some money on accommodations, explore options in the more economical chain hotels outside downtown; from there, you can take the city's public transport to centrally located attractions and activities.
